Product Exaplanation

The sensor works by measuring the stretching and contracting of the torso during the respiratory cycle. Non-irritating silicone based adhesive will be used to minimize the impact of skin irritation. We use wireless sensors that enable hi-fidelity transmission to medical components, smartphones, or tablets. Additionally, we built an optimized circuit and coding program to enhance the efficiency of monitoring the respiratory pattern.

Proprietary Technology

The strain sensor works by stretching and contracting during the respiratory cycle. These changes are detected by “piezoresistive” material and converted to volumetric readings during the newborn’s inhale and exhale.

Competitor Analysis

There are currently two standard methods for monitoring a newborn’s breathing patterns. The first one is pulse oximetry, which is a method to identify oxygen blood non-invasively. The second is capnography, which provides measurement of exhaled CO2. This device is an invasive setup installed on the baby’s airway and is connected in conjunction to other monitoring devices.
